Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak changes have been made to HM Land Registry's evidence of identity requirements. The changes are temporary and may be modified or withdrawn at short notice. Verification of a person's identity can now be done by a video call.
To verify a person's identity by way of a video call for the purpose of completing a form ID1 or ID2, we can now take a screenshot photograph of the person whose identity we are verifying. We also must complete new form: ID5. The ID5 must accompany the ID1 or ID2 lodged with an application.
